How we do it
No mystery. No surprises.
- 01
Walk the line
We mark what stays and what goes. Sometimes the best clearing is selective — keeping the oak and walnut, dropping the cedar.
- 02
Drop in with the mulcher
We run a Cat skid steer with a Fecon mulching head. It chews 8" cedar without slowing down.
- 03
Grind to grade
Stumps are ground to or below grade so you can mow, drive or build over them.
- 04
Final pass
We rake and re-distribute the mulch so it lays as ground cover instead of windrowed piles.
What it costs
$1,500 – $3,500 per acre for typical Ozarks brush. Heavy cedar runs higher.
Every job is different. Below is what nudges your number up or down.
Drives the price up
- +Mature cedar over 8"
- +Steep slopes
- +Lots of rock
- +Selective work where every tree matters
Drives it down
- −Open brush and small-diameter trees
- −Flat or rolling ground
- −Volume — 5+ acres in one mobilization
FAQ
Frequently asked
Bulldozing tears the topsoil and leaves you with burn piles, ruts, and erosion. Mulching grinds everything in place to a 2–4" mulch carpet. The ground stays intact, the property looks done, and you can use it the next day.
